The car accident that happened last Monday, April 14, at North Bend Way and Winery Road near Interstate 90 has claimed the life of a four-month-old baby.
Dustin Mathew Sattleberg suffered extremely critical injuries and died about nine hours after the collision, after being airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He had been riding in a car seat.
The accident occurred just before 5 p.m. Monday, involving a 1997 Ford Ranger pickup driven by a 34-year-old Seattle man, and a 1998 Mercury Mystique, driven by an 18-year-old North Bend woman. Her passengers included a 16-year-old girl, as well as the baby. The driver suffered serious injuries, and her teenage passenger suffered critical injuries. They were also taken to Harborview. The driver of the pick-up was not seriously injured.
According to reports, the collision caused the car to plummet about 20 feet off an I-90 highway embankment. King County Sheriff’s Department spokesman John Urquhart told the Valley Record that the accident is still under investigation. No charges or arrests have been made.
“These fatal investigations take time,” Urquhart said.
