The Rotary Club of Snoqualmie Valley honored two outstanding Mount Si High School seniors as their fall Students of the Quarter. Morgan Seymour and Kasey Channita were singled out for their excellent grades and community service. Both students and their parents, Jane-Ellen and Winnie Seymour and Terri and Thomas Channita, attended the Rotary’s Dec. 16. regular Thursday morning breakfast at TPC Golf Course in Snoqualmie.
Seymour volunteers in elementary school classes and hopes to become a teacher. She is the student representative on the school’s student Diversity and Respect Team (DART), and plans to attend college next year in Oregon.
Channita is a member of the football team, and is involved in mentoring 9- to 14-year olds in Junior Wildcat Football. In addition, he hopes to attend SPU in the fall, studying Christian theology and making a career as a pastor.
Both students are musicians in the jazz band and wind ensemble, as well as co-chairs of the student relations committee, a part of the student government system.
Selected students receive a certificate, and scholarship checks in the amount of $100.
