General Position Summary:
Oversee office, answer incoming phone calls, order office supplies, and generate sales of advertising to new and existing businesses in any combination of all King County Publications. This includes display and classified advertising, special sections, preprints, print-and-deliver, and any other products or services available through King County Publications. Assist Outside Sales Executives when needed while they are out in the field. Enter display advertising insertion orders into PBS. Handle petty cash for the office and make deposits as instructed. Enter editorial copy as necessary at the discretion of the Editor.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Meet and exceed monthly revenue goals by selling advertising in all products to both new and past advertisers.
Initiate phone contact with existing customers as well as potential customers
– Present circulation and demographic information on our newspapers, singularly or in
combination as is applicable to the advertiser.
– Recommend the best advertising plan based on the advertiser’s needs, goals and budget.
– Maintain up-to-date information on each active account.
– Establish new accounts, obtain billing and credit information, and get signed contracts based on the best ad program to meet the advertiser’s needs.
Schedule all advertising for new and existing accounts, while adhering to established deadlines.
– Process ad materials in a timely manner with clear, complete, layout and billing instructions.
– Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
Make effective use of business hours. Maintain effective work and time management practices.
Actively participate in sales meetings.
Order Supplies
Enter insertion orders into PBS
Maintain professional and positive image in and out of the office.
Enter copy into text edit at the discretion of the Editor.
Handle petty cash and make bank deposits as instructed.
Secondary Functions:
Research billing questions. Complete and process debit/credit memos as needed.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Scope:
This position performs duties independently under minimal to moderate supervision in a wide variety of work situations of moderate complexity. Decisions are made within established and well-known company procedures.

Job Conditions:
