The Mount Si High School football team played its best last Friday, Sept. 26, against the number one 3A team in the state.
The Wildcats were only able to find the end zone once as they fell to 1-3 on the season. Peter Nguyen scored two touchdowns to lead the Bellevue Wolverines to a hard-fought 20-7 win that could have easily been much different.
“If that’s the number one team in the state, we’re number two,” said Mount Si coach Charlie Kinnune. “We played the number one 3A team, we played the number four 4A team, (and) both those teams came off the field knowing we beat them up front.”
The Wildcats opened the game on offense, and proceeded to go to work. Seniors Sean Snead and Brandon Smith chewed up lots of yards on the ground, and quarterback Tyson Riley had a couple of solid runs that kept the drive going.
