Valley residents asked for school bond feedback, e-meeting added to schedule

The Snoqualmie Valley School Board is seeking public opinion on a bond issue, in a series of public meetings this week, and an online meeting next week. Community members will be asked for their feedback on a potential bond that proposes $216 million in facilities work, including construction of a sixth elementary school, a major renovation of Mount Si High School and high-priority facilities improvements at other buildings throughout the district. The estimated tax impact of the bond on tax payers would be an additional $2.24 per $1,000 of assessed property value.

The Snoqualmie Valley School Board is seeking public opinion on a bond issue, in a series of public meetings this week, and an online meeting next week.

Community members will be asked for their feedback on a potential bond that proposes $216 million in facilities work, including construction of a sixth elementary school, a major renovation of Mount Si High School and high-priority facilities improvements at other buildings throughout the district. The estimated tax impact of the bond on tax payers would be an additional $2.24 per $1,000 of assessed property value.

The meetings are set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Mount Si High School Library, with two more on Thursday, Dec. 12, starting at 12:30 p.m. at the district office, 8001 Silva Ave. S.E., and at 6:30 p.m. at Chief Kanim Middle School.

Next week, the district will also present the bond information online, in an e-meeting, starting at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 17. Participants will be able to watch the presentation from their computers, and submit written questions during the meeting.
