The Snoqualmie Valley School District is requesting letters of application from community members interested in filling a board of directors seat left vacant by Kristy Sullivan. Candidates must be registered to vote and reside within Director District No. 5, which includes Fall City and surrounding areas.
A map and legal description of District No. 5 are available at the district office, 8001 Silva Avenue S.E., Snoqualmie, or on the school district’s Web site at www.svsd410.org/districtinfo/board/DirectorDistrictInfo.asp.
Those interested may also call Peggy Richter at (425) 831-8007, and she will verify any address with the King County Elections Division.
Eligible candidates need to file a letter of interest with Superintendent Joel Aune by noon on Thursday, Dec. 4 to be considered for the position. This letter should include a biographical sketch as well as a statement about one’s interest in being a board member. Final candidates for the position will be invited to address the board and answer questions from board members during a special meeting, open to the public. The board hopes to select and officially appoint the successful candidate at its Dec. 11 meeting.
More information about school board service is online at www.svsd410.org.
Sullivan resigned from the position in October to dedicate more time to promoting healthy youth initiatives.
