Tom Mohr is the 2010 city of North Bend Employee of the Year.
Tom is the Assistant City Engineer and manages the Public Works employees, including the Parks, Water, Sewer and Storm Water departments. Tom first came to North Bend in August 2004 as the Capital Projects Manager. Tom has made himself an invaluable member of North Bend’s staff.
In 2010, Tom went above and beyond in his efforts to support city projects. He helped inspect and manage the $17 million ULID sewer project, the Park and Ride project on the west end of the city and the construction of the new Downing Street road adjacent to the QFC. These projects had Tom running all over town on a day-to-day basis in addition to carrying out all of his regular duties.
“Tom is such a steady and dependable part of our team. He just flat handles things, without complaint and with a positive attitude. He makes everyone else’s job easier because he does his so well,” said Duncan Wilson, North Bend City Administrator.
The mayor and staff recognized Mohr Dec. 17 at the annual Wellness Employee Recognition Luncheon, where he received a plaque and a warm round of applause from his fellow workers.
“It’s hard to imagine that we could have completed even half of what we did in 2010 without Tom” said Mayor Ken Hearing. “This award is truly well deserved and it was my honor to name him as this year’s recipient.”
