To Laurie Baker, (letter to the editor 7/6), and others who feel
similarly about the planning Commission’s decision of Falls Crossing, if you are
so frustrated with their decision on Falls Crossing, step up to the plate and
join the Planning Commission. Put in time and educate yourself on city
policies, history of zoning and public process. Maybe you’ll find answers to
your questions. It’s much easier to be an armchair citizen than to actually
work in the trenches of the Planning Commission. They deserve our
applause, not for their decision, but for all the incredible volunteer hours of
studying material, asking hard questions and attending meetings.
They shouldn’t have to suffer personal insults and hollow criticisms.
Maybe you should step up and try their volunteer job. You will receive and
education about this city and the people in it.
