Skyline quarterback Brian Foreman threw for 219 yards and two touchdowns as the Spartans defeated the Mount Si Wildcats 27-7 in KingCo 3A football action last Friday at Mount Si High School.
It could have been much worse, but the defense stood up to the task.
Or, as Mount Si coach Charlie Kinnune said, “It could have been a lot better, too,” while lamenting what might have been.
“[If] We make a couple big plays, we knock a ball down in the end zone, if we pick a ball down here in the corner and bring it back, if the guy that dropped the ball can return it, he catches that ball, he’s gone,” said the Mount Si coach.
Defense for Mount Si was big, forcing three turnovers (two Foreman interceptions and one fumble recovery), four Spartan turnovers on downs and two sacks of Foreman.
Defensive lineman Emerson Wetherall was happy with his unit’s performance.
