Snoqualmie Valley Winter Shelter staff and volunteers will host two public meetings this week on its plans for this winter. Community members are invited to attend, get information and ask questions they may have about the seasonal homeless shelter.
Meetings will be at 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6, and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, both at North Bend Library.
Pending approval from the congregation of Mount Si Lutheran Church in North Bend, the shelter is planning to open the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 24, at the church. Following a 60-day stay at the church, the shelter will be relocated to Snoqualmie United Methodist Church, in mid-January, for another 60 days. Both churches have hosted the shelter in the past. Shelter staff planned to submit permit information to both cities by the end of last week.
The final host site will be Valley Christian Assembly in Fall City. The shelter is projected to be open through April.
