This year, the City of North Bend marks its centennial year.

One hundred years ago this month, North Bend was incorporated as a city, with Peter Maloney, a local entrepreneur, serving as its first mayor.

Over the years, the city has seen great changes, with times of population growth and stability, business development and the movement of state highways and bypasses.

The Snoqualmie Valley Record will recognize the city’s history, milestones, founding faces and future with a special publication coinciding with this year’s Festival at Mount Si.

The North Bend 2009 Centennial retrospective and Festival at Mount Si Guide will be available on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

Find out more about the guide by calling the Snoqualmie Valley Record at (425) 888-2311.
