The Snoqualmie Falls Hydroelectric Project is the world’s first completely underground power plant, as well as one of the oldest power-generating operations in the United States. More than a century after its construction, the facility still produces clean, cost-effective electricity for PSE customers throughout Washington.
Visit the power plant and learn about the legacy of the Snoqualmie Falls project with a free tour at the Snoqualmie Falls Hydroelectric Museum.
The museum is housed in PSE’s historic carpenter shop and train depot and the tour chronicles the development of the project from 1898-1899 through historical artifacts, photos, and documents. The original unit 5 from Plant 1 cavity is on display.
Tours are available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, through the first weekend in September.
Admission is free.

The new museum features power plant controls and a ground model.
