Mount Si wrestlers placed eighth out of 15 teams in the Saturday, Dec. 10, Spud Walley Invitational tournament in Sedro Wooley.
Heavyweight Josh Mitchell took first in the 285 pound weight slot, while Tyler Hutchinson took fourth in the 195 pound bracket. Eli Clure took fifth at 106, and Bruce Stuart took fifth at 135.
“The team score was pretty good considering we did not have a 132, 152, 170, or 182 wrestler in the tournament,” Head coach Tony Scholtfeldt told the Record in an e-mail. Varsity wrestlers in those weight classes were out due to illnesses or being moved into lower weight classes, and participating as non-scoring wrestlers.
