Conservation District meets tonight at Preston

After 15 months working with a special task force and advisory committee, the King Conservation District is completing a proposed program of work targeting six areas to focus its efforts, including rural and urban farm plans, the regional food system and small-lot forestry. KCD will host a meeting for public comment on the program of work, 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at the Preston Community Center, 8625 310th Ave. S.E., Preston. The district plans to finalize the program and submit it to the King County Council Aug. 1.

The district has legislative authority to propose a per-parcel rate to fund its program of work.
