Place ticket orders now to be sure of a seat to see one or all of the films at the Ella Raines Film Festival June 22-24. Five fabulous films of the 1940s co-starring the glamorous film star Ella Raines, who was born and raised in the Snoqualmie Valley and is still remembered by many who knew her then and live here now, will be shown.

Plans for the Ella Raines Film Festival include a gala opening night at the North Bend Theatre on Friday, June 22, when “Tall in the Saddle,” co-starring John Wayne, will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, the locale will be the Mount Si High Performing Arts Complex, where “Hail the Conquering Hero” with Eddie Bracken is scheduled for 2 p.m., and “Phantom Lady” with Franchot Tone plays at 7:30 p.m. The final two films will be shown at the North Bend Theatre on Sunday. At 1:30 p.m. see “The Senator Was Indiscreet” with William Powell, and at 4:30 p.m. enjoy “The Suspect” with Charles Laughton. Each show will include a cartoon and a short subject reel in addition to the feature film.

Other plans include displays of Ella Raines memorabilia, including personal and studio photos and posters provided by Ella Raines’ daughter, who now lives in the Valley, and from the Harley Brumbaugh and Jean Pierini collections.

The Snoqualmie Valley Historical Society is presenting the festival. Tickets are $10 for each of the showings and may be purchased in advance by calling (425) 888-3200 or (425) 888-1514.
