The annual Valley bike ride, Tour de Peaks, is now part of the Festival at Mount Si.

The ride, set for Sunday, Aug. 9, boasts other changes this year.

The course has been lengthened this year into Carnation, and a new optional leg has been added.

“We’re trying to lengthen the course,” organizer Paul Tredway said. “With a couple of these offshoots, they’re going to get close to 100 miles.

“We’re trying to promote Snoqualmie Valley,” he added.  “That’s what this whole thing is about.”

Tour de Peaks also includes a Kids’ Zone with activities and face painting to keep the younger riders having fun after the run.

The tour features a Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast for riders from 7 to 11 a.m. The community is invited to the breakfast. There will be a Rotary Club Beer Garden at the finish line, opening about noon. Cyclists can also feast at the Festival at Mount Si’s food vendor area.

Riders have a chance to win one of two bicycles donated by Rattlesnake Lake Cycles, one for adults, one for children, plus other prizes.

The start line is at North Bend Elementary, 400 E. Third St., North Bend. Check-in and rides start at 7 a.m.
