More than half-a-dozen Fall City firefighters have volunteered to be dunked for a good cause during Fall City Days.
Staff at King County Fire District 27 are hosting the dunk tank this year, 12:30 to 5 p.m. by the children’s carnival area off main street.
Donations for an attempt at dunking raises money for Operation Santa, in which Fall City firefighters identify local families and children in need. Every holiday season, they provide gifts for children and a box of food to make for happier family gatherings.
So far, it’s exclusively firefighters who are in line to be dunked.
“We’re doing it for such a good cause,” said organizer and Fall City firefighter Brett Krache. “It’s to be out there in the community and giving back. Everyone’s excited. Let’s hope it’s real warm!”
Firefighters will also be handing out fire helmets, stickers and safety information, and offering bike helmet fitting, during Fall City Days.
