Snoqualmie Valley Hospital’s bid to bring their proposed new campus at Interstate 90 into the urban growth boundary of Snoqualmie met a dead end Monday, Oct. 6, after the King County Council rejected the idea in a 5-3 vote.

County Councilmember Larry Gossett, chairman of the county’s growth management committee, said he was never swayed by arguments in favor of the change. Gossett also expressed doubts about the financial feasibility of the project.

“Nobody from the general public that is served by the hospital district ever testified in support of it, which surprised us,” he said.

That parcel can’t be considered again for annexation until four years from now.
