The 2008 Snoqualmie city budget includes a $10,000 pay raise for Mayor Matt Larson.

Larson, currently in year two of his first term as mayor, requested and received the pay raise from the Snoqualmie City Council, bringing his pay from $20,000 to $30,000 annually.

He justified the pay raise, saying he works more-or-less full time as Snoqualmie’s mayor.

On paper, the job calls for a 20-hour work week, but “some weeks I’m putting in 30 hours, some weeks I’m putting in 50 to 60 hours,” Larson said.
