Theatre’s ‘Gone with the Wind’ show is Senior Center fundraiser
One of Hollywood’s classic films is showing at the North Bend Theatre as a fundraiser for the Mount Si Senior Center.
“Gone with the Wind,” will be shown at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 7. Tickets may be purchased for $10.
Released in 1939, “Gone with the Wind” won eight Academy Awards.
With budget cuts of $10,000 due to a lack of King County funding, the Senior Center is now looking at fundraisers such as the film showing to make up the difference. For more information, call the center at (425) 888-3434.
Dinners, movies, bumper stickers to raise Valley Relay for Life funds
Fundraising for the 2009 Snoqualmie Valley Relay for Life, set for July 11 and 12, is kicking into high gear.
The Dy-No-Mites Relay team host a Spaghetti Feed and auction, 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at the Snoqualmie Eagles Aerie. Dinner is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
Relay for Life teams will hold a craft fair, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at the North Bend Outlet Mall. The fair will feature many handmade items, gifts, baked goods, plants, and more.
The North Bend Theatre will host a movie night, Monday and Tuesday, June 29 and 30, to benefit Relay for Life. The 3D animated movie “Up” by Disney Pixar will be shown both nights. Tickets are $10 each; $3 from each ticket sale goes to the American Cancer Society. Each ticket includes the movie, small popcorn and small soda. Tickets are available for purchase in advance from Relay participants, Carmichael’s True Value and Jeff Warren State Farm Insurance.
The Mount Si High School Key Club is having an ongoing fundraiser called “Paws For a Cause.” To show school spirit and support for Relay for Life, they have designed some very cool bumper stickers, signs and a sponsor board that will feature the names of corporate sponsors.
