More than one hundred volunteers in Snoqualmie will be honored this week for their contribution to the community.

Snoqualmie Mayor Matt Larson proclaimed Wednesday, April 30 as Volunteer Appreciation Day. Snoqualmie volunteers benefit the entire city. Volunteers to be recognized contribute to commissions and boards, serve as volunteer fire fighters and reserve police officers, are members of the Snoqualmie Emergency Communications and Support Team, and are instructors or members of the Community Emergency Response Team.

To celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Day and treat the volunteers to a special evening, the city invited all of the volunteers to enjoy dinner aboard the Northwest Railway Museum train, viewing Snoqualmie Falls from the train during dinner and then taking a roundtrip ride on the Snoqualmie to North Bend run.

Puget Sound Energy, Comcast, and Allied Waste have contributed funds so that the families of volunteers may attend the event as well.
