The Snoqualmie Valley School District has filled its vacant board seat.

Fall City-resident Craig Husa was elected at the board’s meeting last week by a vote of 3 to 1.

“I’m excited to be able to contribute,” he said after the meeting.

Husa fills the seat left vacant by Kathryn Lerner’s resignation from the Snoqualmie district’s board of directors in January. Lerner cited personal reasons for her resignation last month.

“We’ve got a great school district, and we’ve got challenges we face, but that’s what makes it worthwhile,” Husa said.

He and his family have lived in the Valley for seven years, and have two children in Snoqualmie Valley schools. His 12-year-old son attends seventh grade at Chief Kanim Middle School, and his 10-year-old daughter is in the fifth grade at Fall City Elementary.

Husa is the former chief executive officer of a computer software company, which was sold last fall, and now works as a consultant in the computer industry.
