Tai Chi classes to start in Snoqualmie

A 10-week course on the slow-moving, meditative martial art of Tai Chi is starting up in Snoqualmie.

Beginner level 2 classes will start Thursday, Jan. 15 at the Snoqualmie Fire Station. This class is for students who have completed the Tai Chi Beginner 1 class or have permission from the instructor.

Registration closes Jan. 12. The class is limited to 20 participants.

Master Chorus Eastside seeks new voices

Master Chorus Eastside, formerly the Issaquah Chorale, is holding auditions in all sections for its 2008-2009 season.

Now beginning its 18th season, Master Chorus Eastside exists to share the power of choral music to inspire and bring joy.

The chorus will appear with the renowned Prime Voci from Seattle Girls’ Choirs in March, perform Haydn’s finest oratorio, The Creation, in an innovative semi-staged version in May, and conclude with its popular All-American Independence Celebration in Issaquah’s historic Pickering Barn in June.

MCE performs mainly on the Eastside, but has appeared in Benaroya Hall, throughout western Washington, and in numerous performances on the Argosy Christmas ship. The chorus has been invited to participate in the Haydn International Choral Festival in Vienna next July. All concerts feature informative commentary and historical information presented by Artistic Director and Conductor Linda Gingrich.
