Snoqualmie businessman Jeff Warren had participated in Relay for Life in the past, but when his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in January, her struggle “brought it back to the forefront of my caring,” he said.
For one day last week, more than 30 Snoqualmie businesses hung oversized pink ribbons on their doors to show their support for cancer victims. Each participating business donated a portion of their day’s proceeds to Relay for Life.
“It was amazing,” said Warren. “It made my wife feel fantastic.”
Next year he hopes to extend the pink ribbon event to make it a week-long fund-raiser.
Warren has also organized a team to participate in the July 12 Relay for Life event to take place at Centennial Fields in Snoqualmie.
These events really “brought the Valley and the Ridge together,” he said.
