A driver was hospitalized after being thrown from her pickup Thursday morning, July 15, on Interstate 90 at Preston.
The accident happened before 8 a.m. when a rear tire on the woman’s truck blew out while she was driving west on the freeway.
Her Ford F-series pickup left the road, went through a chain link fence on the margin and came to rest on its side. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and was found by Eastside Fire and Rescue responders next to it.
She was transported by paramedics to Harborview Medical Center.
Commuter traffic had backed up for more than a mile by 8 a.m. Eastside Fire and Rescue personnel, Bellevue Fire Department and the Washington State Patrol responded.
