Scholarship fund aided by women’s group

Letter to the Editor

The Snoqualmie Valley Community Network and the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition would like to thank members of the Snoqualmie Valley Women’s Social for their successful March 27 event at the historic Meadowbrook Farm. The event enabled the launching of a “Prevention Scholarship” to reward graduating seniors who promote healthy standards and behaviors among their peers.

The event raised $683, enough to make awards beginning this spring.

The Coalition will review applications and make recommendations to the Network’s board, which will announce the recipients at “Senior Awards Night” and at its annual Rise and Shine Breakfast to be held this year on June 14 at the Cedar River Watershed.

The United Valley Scholarship Foundation will manage the program.

This group of women with social conscience are truly making a difference in the lives of students who wouldn’t otherwise be recognized for their valuable efforts.

Thank you.
