Residents are invited to be a part of the city’s forest legacy at the inaugural “Green Snoqualmie” event, 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 8, on Snoqualmie Ridge. Participants will remove invasive non-native plants such as Himalayan blackberry and plant native plants in their place.

The project will be located on the east side of Douglas Avenue S.E. between S.E. Curtis Drive and S.E. Basset Street. Plan to park at Snoqualmie Community Park, 35016 S.E. Ridge St., or on Douglas Avenue S.E., and walk to the site.

Come dressed to work outside (rain or shine) with sturdy shoes and a water bottle. Tools, work gloves, and light snacks will be provided.

Another forest restoration event is planned for 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Nov. 5, at Venn Forest. To register for the Oct. 8 event or for more information, send email to info@greensnoqualmie.org or call (425) 238-0065.
