The Snoqualmie Arts Commission is looking for artists, working in any medium, to participate in a new public art project called “Trains Around Town.”
The project asks artists to decorate one-and-a-half by two-foot wooden “blanks” that features an outline of a train.
The finished wooden blanks will be on display during Snoqualmie’s Railroad Days this summer.
The art will also be displayed at the Art Gallery of Sno Valley on Railroad Avenue in September and will be featured at the Finally Friday Art and Wine Walk on Aug. 26.
Participants at the walk will vote on their favorite art works and the winning artists will receive $200 round trip passes from the Northwest Railway Museum.
Applicants must submit artist information and an application form, a sketch or description and a release waiver to Snoqualmie’s Associate Planner Nicole Sanders at nsanders@ci.snoqualmie.wa.us. Applications are available on the city website at www.cityofsnoqualmie.org.
All applications are due by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8.
