Renee Spear of North Bend is on the dean’s list for first semester at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla. She is studying astronautical engineering.

To make the dean’s list, students must achieve a 3.5 or higher GPA.

Spear is the daughter of Gregg and Wendy Spear, granddaughter of Betty Spear and Shirley Forgey, all of North Bend.
