The Snoqualmie City Council approved zoning changes in downtown Snoqualmie in accordance with the 2014 comprehensive plan and an amendment to a generator design contract during their meeting on Monday, April 11.
The zoning ordinance will change two areas in downtown Snoqualmie to a Form-Based Mixed-Use zone.
The new zoning was designed to make sure any new development or redevelopment would stay in line with the historic downtown feel, comply with floodway regulations and clarify and support second-story residential use.
The council also authorized the mayor to sign an amendment to the consultant services agreement with BHC Consultants for additional work.
In February 2015, the council approved a contract with BHC to design four standby generators for Water Well No. 8, 1040 Booster Station, Canyon Springs Disinfection Facility and the Public Works Shop. During the design, Snoqualmie was not able to get permission from King County to install a generator in the Canyon Springs location. Now the city is requesting BHC provide some additional work in the form of legal descriptions and exhibits for the vacation and easement process, coordinating with property owners and the county, and attending construction progress meetings.
The amendment will add $25,853 to be paid for BHC’s services in addition to the original agreement which was for $129,147. The amendment also extends the contract to November 30, 2016.
