Volatile weather couldn’t dampen the spirit of this year’s Festival at Mount Si, which took over North Bend Friday through Sunday, Aug. 8 through 10.
Clouds cleared away Saturday night just in time for a booming fireworks display sponsored by the Wyrsch family, who have been lighting up the evening sky for decades.
By day, families enjoyed the annual Grand Parade, a canine beauty pageant and talent show, carnival rides, live entertainment and all the fair food they could eat.
Dressed in layers and carrying a huge umbrella, Russ Dilks said he was “prepared for all weather” as he watched his daughter have her face painted. His favorite part of the weekend? “The pie-eating contest. Those kids really dug in!”
