I have heard people say they enjoy the casino music from their yards. Will that be true if the casino has concerts by the Dead Kennedys or Throbbing Gristle? Then I’ll be able to tell those folks, “Why don’t you take a hit of Ecstasy and enjoy the music? It is like a free slam dance in your living room,” which is essentially what they’ve said.

We should all respect the fact that we have different tastes, and fess up that it is great to be able to go to hear the music and also enjoy the right to stay at home and NOT hear the music. We would all then be able to enjoy our own space. I enjoy quiet but the concerts deprive me of that.

The managers of the casino feel we do not have this right. They feel they can book any band at any decibel level at any time that will earn them a buck. I understand the origin of that point of view. If I earned a $480,000 base salary like Michael Barozzi does (He is the CEO of the firm that runs the casino), I could afford to live outside of the noise zone and disregard the puny voices of the inconvenienced lesser people. I’d find it totally impossible to understand the petty concern of a homeowner whose house was suddenly worth $40,000 less than it was a year ago from the noise because I’d be earning that much every month.

Ooh! Is it true that in September 50 Cent is playing the casino?
