Giving Tree program launches for the holidays; look for red, green or angel tags on trees in Snoqualmie Valley businesses

Kiwanis, the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank and the North Bend Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints are partners again this year for the annual holiday gift-giving tree program.

“This program has been ongoing for a number of years serving many Snoqualmie Valley families,” said Marie Jackson, President of the Snoqualmie Valley Kiwanis.

Last year the Giving Tree program provided holiday gifts to over 600 children. “This is one of many Kiwanis sponsored events, but the one we all look forward to each year,” Jackson added.

Families with children up to 18 years of age may sign up at the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank office, 122 E. Third St., North Bend. The final registration day runs from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Participating families will be able to shop for holiday gifts Dec. 15 and 16 in North Bend at the LDS church, 527 S.W. Mount Si Blvd.

To support this program, look for the Giving Trees, hung with red and green gift tags, in local businesses. Select a tag and buy a gift that is appropriate for the sex and age of the child identified on the tag. Return wrapped gifts, with tags, to any Giving Tree location. At a few locations in North Bend you may see angel tags on the Giving Trees. These tags are for seniors at the Regency Care Center. These gifts should be wrapped and the angel tag affixed to the top of the gift.
