WILLIAM RALPH MOORE ROBINSON

William Ralph Moore Robinson, born on June 3, 1932 and married to Marlene Page on June 30, 1948, passed peacefully in his sleep on the morning of November 6, 2016.

He is survived by his loving wife Marlene, daughters Leanne (Larry) Donelan, Cynthia (Dave) Jahns, Nancy (Heinz) Holzinger, and Roberta (Steve) Peterson, six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Born in Yakima and raised in Seattle, Ralph was fond of giving the local sheriff’s horses lumps of sugar in exchange for midnight bare-back rides through the (then) farmlands. Ralph enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1948, performed combat tours in Korea and Vietnam, received four Bronze Star (some with valor) and two Purple Heart citations, and retired as a Warrant Officer 3rd Class in 1974 after 27 years of service.

His family toured the nation and world with him, living in Germany, Japan, Texas, Florida, and Washington. After his first retirement, he and his family settled in the neighborhood he grew up in where he began a second career as a radio & electronics technician for NOAA, with whom he sailed the swells of the Berring Strait. Ralph retired again in 1985, and thereafter enjoyed his family, wood shop, and sailboat for the rest of his days.
