The Washington State Patrol is seeking anyone with information about an April 15 two-car collision that occurred at approximately 8:22 p.m., Saturday, April 15, on SR 203 just south of 288th. One of the victims was seriously injured in the accident and law enforcement suspect one of the drivers was intoxicated.

Troopers responding to the scene determined that a 2016 Ford Focus, driven by Gerald L. King of Port Angeles was traveling southbound on S.R. 203 when it crossed the center line and struck a 2005 Hyundai Tucson head on.

The Tucson was being driven by a woman with her 10-year-old son as a passenger.

All three victims were transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The child sustained serious injuries and is still recovering at Harborview.

Further investigation led investigators to arrest King on charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and vehicular assault due to the nature of injuries to the boy. Troopers obtained a warrant for King’s blood and the results are pending from the Washington State Patrol Toxicology Lab.

King could face jail time of up to 10 years on the vehicular assault charge.
