Requesting recognition for students heading into armed forces, too | Letter

Last week’s edition of the Snoqualmie Valley Record mentioned several athletes and artists that are moving on to various colleges after finishing their studies at Mount Si High School.

I hope that before this school year ends your will also publish the names (as well as some pictures) of the young men and women that will be joining our armed forces, too.

On another note, during the Thanksgiving Dinner last year at the North Bend Senior Center Mayor Ken Hearing gave a speech and indicated the new North Bend City Hall will include the long awaited North Bend Veterans Memorial.

With the 2017 Memorial Day holiday fast approaching it would be great if you could publish an article on this memorial along with a sketch or draft of what it will look like.

Editor’s Note: There are no designs currently available for the veterans memorial element that is planned for the new North Bend City Hall. The memorial will be created in a second phase of the project. The first phase, construction of the main building and infrastructure is estimated to take 15 months, and projected to start next summer. The second phase, including the memorial and other park elements, will follow.
