The city of Snoqualmie and the Snoqualmie Police Department will participate in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Snoqualmie Fire Station, 37600 Snoqualmie Parkway.

The Police Department is offering a free and anonymous curb-side drop-off. Take this opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted and unused prescription and over-the-counter drugs.

Studies show most teens who abuse prescription drugs obtain them from family and friends for free, including from the home medicine cabinet.

In addition, many Americans do not know the safest way to dispose of their unwanted or expired medicine, often causing safety and environmental hazards by flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the garbage.

On an ongoing basis, residents can drop off prescription drugs at the Snoqualmie Police Department during business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
