Snoqualmie Valley Rotary Club has been awarded a Rotary District matching grant of $10,000 to support services for the homeless in the community.
The grant partners are the Snoqualmie Valley Rotary, Duvall Rotary and a private supporter of Snoqualmie Valley Shelter Services for a total project budget of $19,000. This grant will be going directly to Snoqualmie Valley Shelter Services and will directly support a high capacity washer and dryer, remodel the current shower trailer and purchase a 8.5’ x 10’ cargo trailer with 50 lockers for secure storage.
Jennifer Kirk, director of Snoqualmie Valley Shelter Services stated “Laundry facilities are a desperate need for our clients that we have rarely been able to meet. The use of laundry facilities will create a sense of dignity and provide for better job opportunities. Safe and secure storage of their possessions is a huge problem for those experiencing homelessness. The lockers will allow them the ability to tend to their necessary daily business without carrying all of their things with them.”
Snoqualmie Valley Rotary is proud to support and be part of this worthy grant. Rotary meets every Thursday morning at 7am at the Club at Snoqualmie Ridge, we welcome anyone interested in joining.
