Bracing for $60 million in budget cuts in 2011, the King County Council’s budget committee will hold a public hearing to hear concerns by Snoqualmie Valley residents.

The local council meeting is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Mount Si High School’s Wildcat Court, 8651 Meadowbrook Way S.E., Snoqualmie.

“During this difficult budget process, programs and services that our residents depend on are going to be cut or eliminated,” said Councilmember Julia Patterson, who will host the meetings. “We need to hear from the public about the services they value, their ideas for saving money, and how we can do more with less.”

Other meetings are planned for Seattle, Bellevue and Kent. Day-after coverage of the public hearings will be available both online and on King County TV. You can also follow the deliberations on Facebook and Twitter.
