The Snoqualmie Valley will be represented in a small way at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. Snoqualmie Mayor Matt Larson, with a group of community residents, traveled to the Pyeongchang, Korea, to help volunteer during the Olympic games.

The group includes a former student who traveled to Korea as part of the Snoqualmie Sister Cities program as well as members of Snoqualmie Valley Rotary Club.

City Communications Coordinator Joan Pliego said Larson paid his own way to Korea as a private citizen. The group is planning to stay until Feb. 26.
