Aishi Waghray, a 3rd grade student at Snoqualmie Elementary School, was among the more than 700 participants at the 61st Washington State Science and Engineering Fair (WSSEF) in Bremerton on March 23 through 24.
She earned first place as well as the Mildred and Mirko Misic Memorial Award, for her presentation and knowledge about her topic “Music and Memory.”
At the 2018 WSSEF event, students in grades 1-12 converged on Bremerton High School with their project boards and demonstration materials. Each presented their projects to judges who volunteer their time to listen, critique and encourage students.
WSSEF awards more than $1 million in scholarships as well as special awards meeting specific criteria set by a sponsor. For more information, visit the WSSEF– Promoting Future Scientists & Engineers website at http://wssef.org.
