The Northwest Railway Museum recently accepted the donation of Northern Pacific parlor car 1799 and floated it from Whidbey Island to Seattle on its journey to Snoqualmie.
Thanks to the generosity of Jana and Dan Shaw of Everett, the Northwest Railway Museum will now exhibit a Pullman parlor car in the Train Shed. The Shaws have lovingly cared for car 1799 for many years and are pleased to see it moved to a heated building.
Interested locals can visit the Museum’s blog at www.TrainMuseum.Blogspot.com to learn more about the moving process, which involved jacks, a truck, a crane, a barge and a tug boat.
The Northwest Railway Museum asked the community to consider helping complete the move by making a contribution during GiveBig on May 9.
