Fall City Elementary students, staff, community members and local leadership celebrated the new playground now installed at Fall City Elementary School during a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday, April 9.

Snoqualmie Valley School District Superintendant Joel Aune and Jeff McMorris, Chief of Staff to King County Councilwoman Kathy Lambert, were among the local leaders attending.

The new playground, the only one in the community of Fall City, is located in the school’s primary grade play area, designed for FCES students in Kindergarten through second grade. It was officially opened to the school and community after Aune, along with Principal Dan Schlotfeldt, playground supervisor Diane Johnson, PTSA President Cynthia Thomsen and PTSA Playground Project Chair Sophie Harris, cut the ribbon.

Students were eager to try out the multiple slides, climbing structures and hanging bars of the new play structure, which was secured at no cost to the school district.

The school thanks the many organizations and families who helped make this accomplishment possible. For more information on the FCES PTSA, contact Carrie Ahlstrom at pr@fcesptsa.com or by calling (425) 441-8145.
