A small bomb exploded in the 1300 block of North Bend Way just before 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, but it caused no injuries or property damage.

According to the report, the suspect or suspects threw the explosive device out the window of a moving truck. The vehicle used is reported to be a 1990s-era pickup truck.

Sgt. John Urquhart, a spokesman with the King County Sheriff’s Office, said there was not enough left of the bomb to determine how it was made, and there were no suspects and no leads to follow up for an investigation. Although there was no damage from this explosion, he said the incident is concerning because someone manufactured a pipe bomb and “they can go off when you least expect them to.”

Anyone with information that could further the investigation can report it to the Sheriff’s Office by calling (206) 296-3311.
