Eastside Fire and Rescue, in cooperation with the Carnation Police Department and the city of Carnation, will be sponsoring a safety fair, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10 at Carnation Station 85, 3600 Tolt Avenue N.E.

The fair will focus on safety and emergency preparedness, giving anyone who attends information and hands-on skills.

Participants can learn how to protect family members and cope with many types of emergencies by planning ahead. Water safety, wildfire safety and defensible space practices, and summer safety tips for children will also be included.

The day will include activities for the entire family, door prizes, safety displays and handouts and a visit from Sparky the Fire Dog.
