Fall City Fire Department to host vaccine clinic

The Fall City Fire Department will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Sunday, Oct. 3, at its department building located at 4301 334th place SE.

The clinic is a collaboration between the fire department and Discovery Health MD. The clinic will provide first, second and booster third shots for those who qualify. The clinic will also offer all three of the available vaccines. It will run from noon to 4 p.m. and does not require an appointment. Anyone 12 or older can get a vaccine.

For those looking to get a booster shot, it must be at least six months since their second shot. The booster shot is for residents with moderately to severely compromised immune systems.

Residents who should get a booster shot include those who are: 65 and older, those in long-term care settings or those between the ages of 50 and 64 who have certain underlying conditions.

Other residents also qualify for the booster and may get the shot. This includes: Those 18 to 49 who are at high risk for severe COVID-19 due to underlying conditions and those 18 to 64 who are at a higher risk for COVID-19 due to their occupation, such as essential and health care workers.

Those planning to get a third shot should bring their vaccination cards to the clinic. Any questions about the event can be sent to rangrisano@discoveryhealthmd.com.
