Western Washington will be under a flood watch beginning Thursday evening, as heavy rains are expected to continue to hit the region over the next several days.

The flood watch will go into effect Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. and will last until 2 p.m. Saturday.

The Floodzilla Gage Network, which tracks river flows along the Snoqualmie River, is predicting flooding in the Snoqualmie Valley. Heavy rains, between 1 to 2 inches, are possible Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service.

The sum of the Snoqualmie River’s three forks are predicted to have flows just over 27,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) by 10 p.m. Thursday. When the three forks combine for a flow over 20,000 cfs, it triggers a phase three alert, and moderate flooding is possible.

The flow of the three forks is predicted to peak at 4 a.m. Friday, at flows just over 45,000 cfs. This is enough to trigger a phase four alert, where severe flooding is possible. Flows near Carnation are expected to peak around 10 p.m. Friday, with flows near 44,000 cfs.
