The National Weather Service has extended its flood warning for the Snoqualmie River near Carnation until just after midnight Tuesday.
Minor flooding is in the forecast for Fall City, Carnation and Duvall. The flood warning is set to end at 12:28 a.m. Wednesday.
According to the Floodzilla Gage Network, river flows near Carnation have been declining Monday, but are expected to increase again from 10 p.m. Monday until 4 a.m. Tuesday. Flows are expected to reach 22,000 cubic feet per second (cfs).
River flows are predicted to decline to after 4 a.m., reaching normal flows Thursday morning.
The flood warning follows a weekend of strong flooding and heavy rainfall across the Snoqualmie Valley. The Seattle area received over 2.5 inches of rain between Friday and Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
According to the Floodzilla, the Snoqualmie River reached peak flows around 31,000 cubic feet per second over the weekend — about 7,000 cfs short of a phase 4 alert. As of 11 a.m. Monday, the Snoqualmie River remained in a phase 2 alert.
