Isabel Larson Jones passed away in Issaquah on May 21, 2022 at the age of 98. Isabel was born on August 22, 1923 in Tolt (Carnation) to Mary and William Larson. She was number six of seven children. She was raised on a farm where Swiftwater sub-division and Mormon church are currently located.

She was King County delegate to National 4-H Club Congress and Junior Livestock Show in Chicago November 1940. She graduated from Tolt High School, the same school her mother graduated from, as President of the Student Body and member of the National Honor Society in 1941. She married Bennett (Ben) G. Jones on February 6, 1943. He was owner of Ben Jones Trucking and then Jones Sand & Gravel. They enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, square dancing with the Mt Si Twirlers, Issasquahs & Braves and the Woodinville Toe Stompers. They played golf every place from Carnation to Canada to Hawaii and New Zealand. Ben passed away at Tall Chief Golf Course on July 13, 1994.

Isabel enjoyed her bowling, volunteering at the Sno-Valley Senior Center and Historical Societies of Snoqualmie Valley and Fall City, member of Issaquah and Upper Kittitas County Historical societies and Life Time Member of the Washington State Pioneers. She served on the board of Association of King County Historical Organization (A.K.C.H.O.) for 2 years and started, and was President/Director, of Tolt Historical Society and Museum for many years. Dolls, trucks and you name it that belonged to her family can be found at the museum.

Isabel was preceded in death by her husband Ben in 1994 and son James in 2017 and sisters Hazel Babcock, Margaret Nyblin, Eleanor Remlinger, Irma Copeland and brothers Wesley Larson and John Larson. Isabel is survived by son Gregory Jones and daughter Suzanne Lassman (husband Syl), granddaughters Toni Jones and Nicole Larson, great grandson DJ Anderson, “adopted” grandson Scott Brittain and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be held at Congregational Church in Carnation June 18, 2022 at 1:00. Her remains will be placed at Acacia Mausoleum in Lake City along with husband Ben and sister Margaret. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Sno-Valley Senior Center.
