The Snoqualmie Police Department announced Thursday, July 28, that they are investigating a possible child luring attempt that occurred last week at Torguson Park in North Bend.

Around 3:40 p.m. Sunday, July 24, police responded after a resident in the park reported that a man attempted to have her 5-year-old son walk away with him after giving him a toy, the police wrote in a statement. Bystanders intervened and the man left the area on a bike heading down the Snoqualmie Valley Trail, police said.

Police described the suspect as a white male in his late 40s or early 50s with long dark colored hair and a skinny build. An area check was conducted, but the suspect was not located. This case remains open and under investigation.
